Its taken a couple of months, but I feel like the https://lemmy.world/c/technology community has become quite vibrant. Its reached critical mass and is a good place to visit and discuss technology news now. I prefer more hardware-related discussions, but a general computer / technology / web discussion site is still cool.
Lemmy.world is on 0.18.4 after several DDOS attacks, and those DDOS continue to be levied against the community. There's been some high-profile bannings / defederations, so the working theory is that "someone" is pissed off at the biggest instance and their decisions. Especially because that "someone" is making DDOS attacks with knowledge of Lemmy's internal workings (suggesting its probably a pissed off admin from some other Lemmy instance).
