advice on upgrade for a friend

my friend asked him to recommend him a gpu+psu for his build. i looked at his specs and everything is par the norm for a gaming build. (he games on 1080p single monitor and he told me he has no plans to upgrade reso or monitor count)

is $340 for a 770 overpaying?
(are there any news on new amd or nvidia cards in january 2014?)
is the psu enough?
will it support overclocking and overvolting the 770 too?

comes out to a total over about $410 USD, which is $10 over his budget of $400, but shouldnt be a big deal. (i'd probably cover the $10 for him anyway)

Nice card but as suggested above I would swap out the Rosewill.

any reason why rosewill isnt like by this community? the teardown and review by hardware secrets seemed pretty highly rated.

For 1080p, a R9 280X or HD7970 is still plenty powerful, but $340 for a GTX770 is a good price.

It's not that we don't like Rosewill, but Seasonic is the best.

As others said, it's not really a dislike but in this case another company can build them a bit better.

Id get a 280x and that Seasonic and call it a day.
