AFUL Acoustics is a new company aiming to shake up the competitive IEM market with its Performer 5 hybrid driver set. It uses a 1 DD/4 BA configuration paired with novel engineering and electronics to make for a compellingly smooth tonality and a highly comfortable listening experience at a reasonable price.

The quad BA single DD market is pretty hot right now. The price is right on this, for what it does. The package looks great and I like that case. Tuning is good as well and those shells are boss.

There are not many companies that really know how to handle BA drivers. IMO it's better to get 1BA, than 1DD+ some BA, cause it will have better treble. Lossless with dedicated BA for treble usually sounds too bright, especially cymbals.

Benchmark Scores I once clocked a Celeron-300A to 564MHz on an Abit BE6 and it scored over 9000.
Why does frequency response go to hell after 2K on everything tested.

Is that a compromise of this class of IEM, or just an artefact of the measuring process?

It's all about logarithmic scale
Yeah this, the peaks you see aren't actually that sharp if it was a linear scale. Also, there needs to be an ear gain from ~2-4 kHz typically because of the structure of the ear canal, else sound will sound muffled/less impactful.

This is sort of the curse of chifi and why the Blessing 2 still stands after all this time. It's also why American companys (JH, 64, et ala) don't fuck with DDs and straight start at a grand and go up to 3.
