Ok, I'm cooling a 4,4GHz Core i7 920 using ANTEC H2O 920 using single or 2x fans and it's cooling it adequately with minimal noise. I'm wondering, should I just stick with ANTEC 920 and just get 6700k or should I invest in a new cooler (would prefer not to)?
Seeing the design of case that I have (Carbide 330R), I could place a dual radiator on top, but then it wouldn't be as silent.
Now, considering this fact, the Core i7 920 at 4,4GHz is eating around 200+ W of power at full load based on wall socket metering I did some time ago.
Now, 6700k is rated at 95W and has reached 110W in torture benchmarks.
Based on this logic, shouldn't my existing cooler deal with a stock 6700k easily and even take overclocking and be no worse at cooling than it is now with i7 920? Am I thinking correctly here?
