All Intel DG1 needs special bios?

I know there is the Asus DG1 card that needs motherboard support. (dg1_oprom.rom needs to be integrated to the main bios)

But what about the chinese made cards?
They are also need bios or it is on the card?

I see a winbond chip right on it; you know I’m almost curious if you can hardware flash an existing bios and have it work. I would need to research. The biggest issue probably that I can see is the amount of vram

I don't have motherboard that supports it officially, but i ordered one, it was 88 USD.
I think the chinese Teclast brand version is with bios, and only the Asus version is without bios.

It looks like a vga bios.
But i think it is possible to extract from a motherboard that supports it.

There is a winbond chip on the Asus card that don't have bios.
I think there is a basic bios that supports non uefi boot.
Vram is the same 128bit 4x 1Gb LPDDR4X 2133mhz (68Gb/s)
The Asus card:

The Teclast card that i ordered:

both:
8x pcie
4 ram chips
no power connector (~30w)

On the Asus the J12 is i think a fan connector
single slot fanless

The TECLAST has some debug connector (J17), dual slot active cooling card, 1x hdmi 3x DP
Not the same pcb.

Sellers don't have any information for compatibility.
There is no any information or benchmark with this chinese cards. (or at least not in English)

It may help in your research. and may help you find different version of oproms. They can be extracted from the drivers themselves.

Looks like GPUz or the drivers are having a hard time with the memory and bandwidth. You can also report that vendor ID to w1zzard.

Can you run the tool from the flash thread and get the output of

igsc list-devices --info

It can work in any motherboard and any CPU (even rebar not needed, tested in x299 mobo, and old skylake i9 cpu). Intel just doesn't officially support it. There is no way to limit any card for just a specific motherboard. (or it is, but only for Intel and Asus brand cards not for chinese market cards)
But there is one bug: Intel control panel not working.
Windows11 recognizes as Iris XE Max but it is a non Max version (I ordered it as a non max).

I also have an A380 (Asrock ITX OC), the PCB is same size, GPU is in the same position. I cant disassemble it because of the warranty.

It is a DG01, but I still don't know this is a Max version or not.
I sent an aida report to the aida developers, they provide a beta version of aida64 that can report.
And also submitted to the GPUZ.

How did you manage to force encoding / decoding on the DG1? Unless its gpu 0 in your system?

can you try

igsc fw hwconfig -d 2

it looks like its device 2 on your system. maybe it is possible to get the SOC type by specifying the device. it looks like it stops after it reads number 1

I simply selected chrome.exe to iris xe.

I think AV1 Encode came with Alchemist, DG1 is the previous generation of GPU design unfortunately. Decode may be something included.

Has the full details and as I expected. DG1/Xe Max cards have DECODE capability but encode is ARC only.
