Since they were already using a high density library on 28nm I doubt they would or could bring a 28nm out with these specs or it would be massive soo it's specs are nonsense or someone has played s blinder but in reality im expexting a low volume 20nm release that ramps to better levels in q4 personally

With K20x being installed into the Titan SP @ Oak Ridge September 2012, GK110 will already be a year old, scary.

Also they skipped drivers, because the xx.6 or 8 refer to the month of the year. They didn't release a new driver in July to make up the 13.7.

No, I'm just not a daily tech info whore like some. I don't go deep into research until the necessity and finances deem it worthy of such time, and I'm nowhere near that yet having bought a 7970 not long ago. Last I read some were saying they skipped rebranding altogether and the 8000s were going to be the next gen architecture.

Anyways, if these spec rumors are true, the 9000s are going to be beasties. The only question is how they'll compete on price to performance. It usually goes in AMD's favor since they get by on a much lower profit margin, but nothing's set in stone.

Wasn't planning to upgrade until Maxwell though, and by then AMD may have yet another gen to reveal.

I would take those specs with a huge serving of salt.

Having said that, I think we can safely assume the 9000 series to be faster than Kepler, considering both the GeForce 600 series and Radeon 7000 series were released ages ago in terms of GPU technology.

How much faster than Kepler these cards will be is only known to AMD engineers, and a matter of nothing but speculation at the moment.

Well, unless they made the shaders quite a bit smaller without sacrificing performance, these figures look really unrealistic. It would mean that the die size would have to practically double, resulting in the biggest die AMD has ever produced, and maybe even the biggest in GPU history?

greeaaatttt i dont intend to upgrade before middle 2014 ... i think my 7950 and my 480/460 can keep up meanwhile ... also i got a 7870 2gb for the price of a 7850 1gb sooo i can wait to see what they will offer grin widely and say "oh well i will upgrade when the price will be dropping" .... or not ...
