you realize the only difference between those and the current APUs for socket FM2 is the GPU driver right?

Why it's an A10-5800K and A10-5700. Performance is the same as the non-firegl version.

well true and not true the drivers make the difference

example W5000 is pitcairn GPU (im selling one) with 768 shaders GCN yet in professional apps its 1.4x - 3x faster than the HD 7970 at 1000 core. all just driver. that and if a driver issue pops up it gets an immediate fix where as typical radeon designation takes months for a fix in some cases. But yea drivers the only difference but it can make a HUGE impact.

for the apus it might but ECC memory and the way 7970 is today it doesnt compare even using those kinds of tricks the 7970 still cant make up the difference on pure brute force. especially not when accuracy is a must. That said i dont know what the point of these APUs are since the memory isnt ECC it can't boast about accuracy at all times of various renders.

Yeah. I converted an old 8800GT into a Quadro FX-3700 myself. Would be an interesting project for someone to see if they can trick it to work. Dave? W1z?
