AMD OC problems

According to what I've read on your motherboard make sure you're using the F10 bios. Ctrl+F1 should give you your advanced chipset options. I really don't think there is cool and quiet or smartfan on Gigabyte mobos. What do you have your RAM divider set at. No matter what speed my system is at the 1.33 mem divider will not work correctly. I've also noticed that CPU-z gives me 17mhz lower memory frequency for some reason. Perhaps taking pics of your bios screens should be your next step if you need more help.

Screw it...i just placed an order with tigerdirect for an AMD athlon X2 5400.. now i got a powerful enough CPU to support a new video card and not bottlekneck it..Now i just need a new PSU and ill be all ready for a new video card

A new cpu is great, but you should still update your BIOS.

Oh and btw, you may still want to overclock. My 3Ghz X2 bottlenecks my HD2900XT.

idk my X300se i doubt will do any bottlenecking to this new processor...and i gotta get a new psu before i get the vid card i want (low end 8800)
