looking for a CHEAP S939 X2 cpu - tis for my children`s PC , been given an MSI board (RS480 chipset), just looking for a cpu.

willing to buy from anywhere as long as its cheap pleae.

oh,this could work out quite well for you-i have a 939 dual core at 2 or 2.2 i think,
i used it for a bit and sulked when i couldnt get 4 ghz out of it lol
the chip is over south harbour,straight swap for previous deal?(work commitments causing me grief with getting to banks/shops in normal hours)i know the chip works fine but you would have to contact the mrs and walk her through a search-i cant get there till a month or two.if your ok with trawling my old crap-your welcome to the cpu

yea mine was just the only thing retrievable from a council house white (lol sam) dell case,everything else was nackered..i put it in my trusty foxconn destroyer with great ambition only to find it would under no circumstances do 4ghz :/ even at -30c! pahhh
too good to throw away,incase i killed my other abusable chips haha

No i think most people have misunderstood me. I have an Athlon rig im looking for a PSU for (sly plug for me lol) and this rig used to have a X2 4200+ but one of the pins broke so i bought a really cheap 3400+ single core to replace it (yes i did try the foil trick). I thought x2s are really expensive i must be wrong.

^ mm same as,its just there 100 mile away atm lol
too many bloody cellys too,i meant to keep the chips for haircutting purposes(donors for chips with missing pins) but most the old cpu's have fatter pins.

Kieran i got a couple of psu's spare,nothing extravagant tho.250/350w atx etc
it seems am2 x2 chips are more expensive than the 939 counterparts.If i stumble across another 939 x2 i will give you a nudge squire.
though i'd def get a magnifying glass out and check the track under the missing pad is still there,jewellers can do fine point soldering for not much money.
i'd offer to solder it for you myself,but all my test/repair gear is 100 mile away too :/
i got a lappy ribbon cable that needs doing and its well frustrating knowing i got the ability but the gear is so far away!

@Mighty Mission - the time for fixing that cpu has well past, i no longer have the broken pin. Best thing i could do is give it away or something.

So i take it your going to go to MM and find his x2?
