i would think ur on the right track with that venice. get him a cheap motherboard like an ECS with nforce 4, cuz those are really stable. then an x850xt pci-e. that runs about 130 for mobo +proc, and then 120 for the vid card. right in his price range.

I also would need a new case and power supply.... something to power that crap, and a nice cheap good case.

Hmm around this budget seems pretty difficult, I mean I could get the mobo+cpu 130$... with a 119$ vid card..... but id need a case and psu, how about the cooler master case with a psu?
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.asp?Item=N82E16811119079 that good? Plus you think with a 3000+, cheap mobo, 512 ram, 200 gig hd and a nice x850xt itd run good? Would it even run on that kind of a psu (370watts) suiccessfully, since the card needs aobut 300watts id think it would, what do you guys think?

i think i choosed a good setup, when he gets the money he can get a cooler for the GFX card and unlock the extra pipelines
(just noticed, while looking into newegg for parts that a lot of things are way cheaper in there than in EU  , that setup in here could pass the 400€)
