Still, 115db is the most that the iPod can produce, and 115db will not damage your hearing after only a few seconds. Your ears need closer to 180db to be damaged in a few seconds, and even then it's debatable how long it would take to cause permanent damage. Standing 5m away from an accelerating motorbike is around 110db, 120db is how loud a jet taking-off 100m away would be and 140db is how loud a rifle being fired 1m away is.
exactly. one of my friends actually won a cell phone off Channel1 (for those of you in american high school you know what im talking about) for sending in his thoughts on the poll they had. his ears are permanatly damaged thx to the iPod he has. but whos choice was it to listen to it that loud? his. we cant protect humanity from itself as the lack of selection of the fittest has breed complete retards and idiots. we shouldnt let this sort of thing happen.

We need to take off most warning labels. The problems will solve themselves.

I have been telling my sister this for years... and now she hears this and is like, whatever. And yes, she listens to hers so loud I can sit 10 ft from her and clearly hear it.
