Not at his stage im still happy with my old FX, still does what i need it to do very well, even in gaming and thats what i do most :)
Id love to update but im waiting for more motherboards to come out and also the new FX's ;) Then i might upgrade.
Ill do a GPU upgrade first before i get a new system, come on nvidia bring out a top card so the 4870x2 prices will drop gezzzzzz

The only reasons i see that u should get a PhenII is:

    1. You already have an AM2+ mobo.
    2. U're rich and likes dumping money in the garbage lol

true, true, for xRevengEx Phenom 2 makes a lot sense due to owning an AM2+ Phenom capable board already.

Dont know about point number 2

I voted no, BTW. I just upgraded over a month ago. So i'll be playing with this swetup for a min of 6 months.

Nope, I just bought a q6600. Sounds like the q6600 is still better than the phenom II and only cost me half as much. :p

i wouldnt say better, in some tests it is, in some its not. looks like phenom 2 is closer to q9450/q9550 in performance terms which is still pretty good, IMHO.

i see no none voted "intel all the way" yet. no intel fanboys in this thread?

Price is my factor. I would like to go AMD, but quite honestly, I would be paying for a downgrade. For what I could get for my Intel system, I would be loosing money.

i wouldnt say that. you'll be actually upgrading to a quad core capable of being clocked up 4Ghz on air (or higher, who knows). So going from an intel e5200 at 3.7GHz i would call it in an upgrade. May be not a very considerable one, but an upgrade nevertheless.

I would actually like to put that to a competition. I can bring my E5200 up to 4.0GHZ real easy. Even still though, I might gain 2-5 FPS in game and wind up paying say $100 to get it. However, I could get maybe an HD4830 and really boost my FPS for less.
