I've had a Playstation 1 & 2 (Had 3 PS2's, The first one burnt out in 3 months, second one in 6, 3rd one I can't remember) One day I took my old, (and rather dead) PS2 out of its box and it miraculously started working again, but the picture quality was a bit grainy because the laser was crapped out so I sold it for £40 while it was still working :p, Gamecube, XBOX, Sega Megadrive, Gameboy Colour. (Yeah, I get around), but NONE can compare to a PC. I have given up on consoles until they are worth buying again. Does PS3 have DX10? I didn't think so..

dude bad picture is due to the cables or plugs not the lazer...if it was the lazer it wouldnt play games in the first place.

I still say it's laser on THIS occasion...

I opened it up and it looked fine, but they do burn out real easy on the PS2's

the laser has no effect on picture quality. even if it was the laser it wouldnt be the diode it would be a dusty motor that controls the laser. ive had 2 ps2's. both of which still work. the first one i got when they were first realsed in the us. all i did was pop it open and clean it once in a while and it works fine. things are starting to give out, but any ps2 will last more then 3 months unless its abused.

I game hard. Simple explanation. I was too "pro" for it to handle. And the other one, and the other one.

I've given up on consoles completely. PC games FTW!! E.g Alan Wake. A quad core game FFS!! but it has the most ALMIGHTY GRAPHICS EVER!

Did you hear what that guy said about needing a multi-core processor? Full CPU core dedicated to physics.... Methinks Conroe is going to get a workout soon...And I also think that Oblivion is about to get replaced as the most addicting/beautiful/computer stressing game lol.

Something I've noticed about consoles is that performance really doesn't matter if there are good games that are fun to play on them, or just plain people to play with you. For example, a PS1 will do fine if you and all your friends play Crash Team Racing all the time. My cousin's absolutely love their PS2, they have a library of like 20 games and have guitar hero. And of course my next door neighbor has Halo 2...I go over to his house all the time :D. Like I said, it all depends on what you use your console for and how much fun the actual games are.

i would spent my money faster on a top of the line dx10 cards than in a ps3 or a xbox 360
but that is just my opinion, btw i have a ps2 :)

I think the Wii looks very interesting.. Just the fact that you can buy Genesis games through it is amazning.

Agreed, Hexen 64 was considered a complete piece of garbage, but my friend and I played co-op over and over and over and over again. We probably beat it at least 50-70 times, finish it and then start again. Believe it or not, but that game got harder evertime you beat it, it was down to near impossible to beat when I got Halo. All depends of the game, not the graphics.
