Went from a 8800 GTS 640MB and 1440x900 screen to HD 5870 and 1900x1080 im totally happy.

Well I might be a great candidate for this question. Becasue I went from a high end video card to another high end video card.

I went from a EVGA GTX 285 F.T.W. to a Diamond 5870 some people even have asked why waist the money. Well I still think it was a better than great Idea.....

At first I didn't because I thought I didn't see that much increase from somewhat of my own doings with settings. And also because of premature drivers.....

But since I fixed some setting I over looked and then I downloaded the new 9.11 drivers. I'm in love with this card. Every game I have seen a substantial increase in Frames per second. It runs a hell of a lot cooler. It uses a hell of a lot less power. It overclocks like a son of bitch and still stays relatively cool.
And to top it all off...... with release of the 9.12 drivers that come out in December.... anyone who owns one is going to get a 25% to 40%(could be more) performance increase. Yes that high I didn't believe it either until I saw some of the benchmarks coming out with those new drivers.

The only thing I went down in is my Benchmarks. I chalk that up to the fact of loosing physx. But it wasn't my GPU score that went down it was my overall score. My GPU score actually went up. I also believe that once I add a higher speed RAM and raise the overclock even that problem will go away.

So if I had it to do over I would do it again. I great performance increase. As well as I got to come home to my comfort base which has always been ATI. But when the new drivers are released for this card it will get even better!

Okay I did find something I don't like about my card..... It's hard to clean the fan. The area between the center and the fins is really tiny. Hadr to get anything in there to wipe. But I'll figure it out so that's hardly a con... LOL

Well, my cuts say I'm gonna need PhysX. Went from 9800GTX to ASUS EAH5850, but in the end installed 9800GTX back-in box including pair of HD5850's.

Well, not entirely happy to HD58xx drivers keeps bugging. Plus their support team on their forums banned me after a week of being member to their 'community', if I see hitler videos on youtube for NVIDIA they should sure build on for AMD/ATI forums.

Been very happy with my xfx 5850 so far, a couple of little glitches with both 9.10 and 9.11 drivers, but that's to be expected on a new product.

Indeed, aside from the bugs i had when first installing, the card has been very good so far. I'm hoping ati will get round to unlocking more of its power though, even in crysis it is never 100% all of the time (~90% even when cpu is <60% or so). I understand it being lower in games like l4d2 and mw2 though, since they are never under 60fps, even at a meagre 30-40% gpu usage.

Downgraded from a gtx 295, nothing but smiles.

I was having problems with sli, starting to wonder now if my monitor was to blame, though it's flawless on this card. 900 1300, super low temps on water and I think it'll go way farther. Gotta get the courage for the flash. :laugh:

Do the flash man you'll be even happier afterward, Mine does 950 core on stock voltage rock stable and that's on the stock cooler.

After a flash, use MSI afterburner and around ~1.25v should see you happily to 1ghz core.
