Does anyone knows what caps models there is on this board? The ones who needs to be replaced. It is so hard to see the text without removing the board. I will upload photos to the site from now. I did not see the buttom on my phone then.
If you are dead set on this repair have a pro do it.

It may be the best, i only got one 75w and one 100w solidier tool and i guess it takes more. Or else this may be better https://www.tradera.com/item/344514...ro-socket-am3-rengjord-integrerad-grafik-hdmi it may suit to the front usb to. I saw there was 2 usb 2.0 cables to the motherboard. 4 usb port on the front and audio. May suit the linked board.
Ok that Motherboard is for AM3 Processors, not 939, they are not interchangeable.

Socket 939 are Sempron, Athlon64, Athlon64 FX, Athlon64 X2, Athlon 64 X2 FX, Opteron

Socket AM3 are Phenom 2 X2-X6, and FX 4000, 6000, 8000 Series.

yea a 100w iron should be way more than enough - but it's more important with soldering tools is that it has temperature control or not.

for reference way back starting out I used to use the old Radio Shack 15w unregulated pencil soldering iron because that's all I knew. It worked, wasn't great but it did the job - which i realized later is cause even a 15w iron at max power still is reasonable (it eats through tips though). A 100w unregulated iron would essentially be a wood burner or something you use for leaded glass windows ... probably not what you want.

If this is your first time soldering, I definitely recommend the usual "read/watch tutorials, practice on scrap first" - especially since newer lead-free solders are a bit more finicky flowing and such. Also last.. flux is your friend! Slob it everywhere lol, it'll clean off afterward.

I noticed you should have a 40-60W with a small end, i have a larger one (will post photos). I have a 75w, could it do the thing? It seems to be 5 1500, 6,3v and the 2 others may be the same but the text is different D and C on the top ones. I wanted to try the motherboard with a dual core 2.4ghz or 2.6ghz. I am curious how they works. I am 35 and never got it in that time, 18 years ago.

The caps you would be dealing with are through hole technology. 75w iron is fine, just have electonic grade solder and flux, solder sucker. Make note of where the caps are located and their polarity (-+) and their labeled values, you cannot install caps backwards without causing further damage. Buy new caps of equal microfarad and voltage value

Just flip the mobo, find the solder pads for the bad caps, apply flux to the pads, use iron to heat till solder puddles-keep iron there, use solder sucker to remove solder. Do this within seconds, not minutes to avoid trace /ic damage.

To install caps flip mobo back over install cap through holes with correct polarity, flip board over and bend cap terminals outward from each other, put flux on the terminals then put tip of iron on solder pad and cap terminal, keep iron there then touch solder till it melts, start pushing solder in to fill in hole and make nice hersheys kiss shape. Remove solder wire then remove iron.

Do not bridge (short) any pads or terminals together.

Once the solder are not cold joints and done properly, clip cap terminals just above Hershey's kiss flush at the peak.
Clean any flux off to prevent corrosion potential using isopropyl alcohol.

Im out

I got the advice to not buy caps on amazon because they can be false. Is it true in many cases?

Is there any other way to remove them? Broke them off and try to solder from the motherboard top? I think the tip must be smaller. It was not much tenn on it, mostly it goes against the legs to the caps.

I solved it by taking a 75w solder tool. I had to brake the legs on the backside to reach the solder from the fabric. I got my new from Amazon today (I took a risk) i first looked at a picture on the web and saw that the negative stripe should be on the negative side but Asus had it reversed. So i had to solder them away again. This time the legs was left and they was whole. I have had the computer on for over 3h. I run memtest86. Before it stopped about 49min, 1,49, and 4. https://www.vogons.org/viewtopic.php?t=45184

There is also one PCIe x16, what kinds of graphic card is maxium? I have read that DDR version on graphic cards does not matter? Thanks for all help, i got the computer to work with Vista. But i only have 2 Kingston 512mb ram and the disk transfer to the harddrive over usb was not fast 15,5MB/sec, i guess it is the memory lack? I have Bios V.02.58 https://www.asus.com/supportonly/a8v-mx/helpdesk_cpu/ and i want to have a dual core processor and i guess i need to change heatsink instead of the standard to the single core 1.8ghz AMD Athlon 64 3000+.

I have 2 Kingston DDR400 https://www.kingston.com/datasheets/kvr400x64c3a_512.pdf they are in the 2 dimms with blue colors, the other 2 are black. If run them 2 the mhz are on 200mhz. I tried to insert a 256mb PC3200 in the black dimm and it only turns out on 100mhz together. I can change up to 233-266mhz in bios, i tried with 166mhz but it is still on 100mhz. Must i have the same memory type? I have mixed memorys together before as a try and i got 200mhz in other computers.

Do i need another cpu cooler to upgrade to a dual core processor? I only have a single core 1.8ghz AMD Athlon 64 3000+ now.

I mean if your not OC then I wouldn't. I use Sliver5 paste (just size of a pee) on the center of the cpu so I let the HSK spread it

I also know that PCIe support all kinds of different types of ddr memory to graphic cards. What is the highest graphic card this board can accept? I got 4 memorys all Kingston https://www.kingston.com/datasheets/kvr400x64c3a_512.pdf 1 pair got the same frekvens and the others to. But i do not know for sure if they match all 4. I only got 163mhz in Memtest86. DDR327. Must i insert the 4 DDR400 in special slots? I tried to change in Bios to 200mhz but it goes back to 163. I could change up to 250 but it is not to recommend. I could also change CLS.
