nah i will wait for the GTX300 serie to lunch and even this is a collector's item i think it will be to powerfull for me.

i luv my 8800GT and this should do me fine until next year or so i only have 22inch screen at 1680x1050 but indeed it's a nice collector's item, but still to high price for me...

Yeah, like play.com is completely detached from reality: you can actually buy an 8800 Ultra new from them for £400, or if you wanna go large, £500 - serious!!

A true collector's item for ultimate e-peen


We have no idea what the PR guys at ASUS were thinking on this one, but the graphics monstrosity known as ASUS Mars Limited Edition equipped with dual-GTX 285s is going to cost an arm, leg, hip, thigh and possibly a few other vitals. (I need a new liver.sub.ed.)

In a consistent stream of speculation prior to the announcement of the GPU at Computex, a few enthusiasts have been taking logical guesses that the price for the card should be a little more than double that of a single GTX 285 2GB model. It turns out that a majority of estimations were terribly wrong, as Scan.co.uk currently lists the card for £896.50 ($1461) and £1,030.98 including VAT ($1680).

To recap, buyers would be paying for a limited edition one in one-thousand card featuring two 55nm GTX 285 GPUs (G200-350-B3) at 648MHz each, 480 shaders (240 x 2) at 1476MHz, and 4GB (2 x 2GB) of 512-bit GDDR3 0.77ns at 2484MHz. Total peak fillrate out of the box would be roughly 41.47 Gigapixels-per-second and 2.12TFLOPS, allowing Far Cry 2 to run almost flawlessly in SLI at Quad-HD resolution.

There isn't much to say at this point, other than the fact that SLI owners are going to be the ultimate bearers of graphics processing bliss until ATI and Nvidia compete again for the 40nm high-end crown.

Well ten years ago we had this... I think that card will find its home in a retro rig in 10 years, for those cool ancient games like Crysis. Remember that? Man that looked so fugly, how did they not get blind while playing this.
