I would have just gone for the G1 gaming because I liked their z87 and z97 so much. I'm going to be very sad to sell the z97 G1, but it will fetch a bit more money than the z87 G1 sniper 5. The "special" socket from Asus is the deciding factor though, I don't think I will be able to sleep at night if I bought the Gigabyte G1 board, even though the onboard audio is a big deal to me.
Is the Asus (Rampage Extreme V) audio likely to be as good as or as near as dam it to the Creative audio on the G1?
Has any one here had a play with or own a X99 G1 gaming? What do you think of it?
I will be using this build for my new business, vidio editing drone footage in HD and ultra HD. Gaming and some benching. And I'll be over clocking it, a lot, for fun. Because of the gaming aspect I'm looking at these two boards and not the Asus delux or WS.
Does any body here want to big up the Gigabyte board and give me something to think about before I buy the Rampage V.
Another thing, my last two gigabyte boards have not been great at mem OC'ing and have had no BLCK over clocking at all (a bios issue I think). I know Asus boards are great at this and the Asus 2011 v3 socket is primed for this. Has any one here got a X99 Gigabyte board? Is the blck thing fixed?
Best DDR4 for over clocking? I'll be buying 2800mhz or above. At the moment I'm looking at these.

Crucial ballistics looks great and a good price too. The Dominator mem is £100 more than the Vengence at the same speed and cas. I have never had Dominator mem, what is it that makes it so revered?
