I just bought a new motherboard(Asus z97-k) and processor (i5 4670k) and I currently have a sapphire r9 290x and I will soon be running eyefinity and I was wondering will I be able to crossfire 2 r9 290x on this motherboard as it has 1 pcie 3.0 x16 and 1 pcie 2.0 x16 maxed at x4.
I'm a noob to these things so any help would be appreciated. :)

Sorry just just realised this may be in the wrong part of the forums.

Looks like it will. The 4x slot will limit bandwidth and might slow things down for you though. If you have the money for two 290x GPUs, I would imagine you have the money for a better board as well, which would be my suggested course of action.

Hi

Asus z97-k would not be my first choice for R9 290x in crossfire due to the PCIe 2.0 x16 @ x4 limitation

In an ideal world; would require a motherboard that supports 2 x PCIe 3.0/2.0 x16 (x16 or dual x8) or higher
