Hey does anyone know a good driver out there that will help boost my fps or some stable settings to tweak it to for a game like Americas Army. I just bought this today and from what I see I only get like 20FPS in action, not what I was looking for!!! I thought it should be I would think about 60FPS or so. So anyone out there that thinks they got a idea of what could be the problem help me out please!! Right now im running the XTreme-G WarCat Driver.

I´ll make a start, the real experts will slip in later. :)

Does this fit to the specs of your card stock speeds?
http://www.techpowerup.com/gpudb/details.php?id=171

You can read the speeds with ATi Tool, Everest etc.:
http://www.techpowerup.com/downloads/Tweaking/ATITool
http://www.techpowerup.com/downloads/84

You shall not expect too much with this card.
For example: Though it has 512MB RAM it has only 4 Render Output Units (ROPs).
As you can see here http://www.techpowerup.com/gpudb/ it´s not that much.
The size of video memory is NOT making a card a big deal automatically.
There are much more (important) criteria.

BUT: Regardless of any overclocking options you should give it try by playing the game
@ resolution 1024 x 768, 1024 x 600 (depends on 4:3 or another aspect ratio).
Lower your detail settings.

More coming soon, I guess.

The AGP version usually have the same clocks as PCI-E.
And X1600Pro is usually DDR2 memory.

...I have to say, don't take this personally but, the X1600PRO Sucks like shit. 512MB; I don't even know why manufactures have to add more memory buffer which does nothing.

1.) The myth keeps selling and selling and selling...

2.) Look at the system requirements for games as they are written by, I think, ALL game manufactors.
What do you read there? Right, memory size, memory size

X1600 - not a bad card.

DO not enable AA (anti aliasing) and dont use AF (anisotropic filtering) above 4x.

In games, disable shadows - thats the largest speed killer.

Cant help you much else until you mention what games your speed issues are in and what resolution/settings you play with.

Actually the X1600Pro is not too bad when OCed. (I have one sitting right next to me lol)
You can play BF2142 at 2xAA and 4xAF at 1024*768
I bet that looks better than 7300GT...

Oc it. I think that has the 128 bit ring bus too. Get a decent Aftermarket cooler and oc the heck out of it. Maybe a voltmod if possible. Turn settings down low and all that and it should be playable. Hope that helps

not all bioses have that jim beam, and that wont affect speed in gaming much anyway.

Honestly, overclocking will get you some more power, but the largest speed increase will come from turning in game settings down lower.

Well just my 2 cents worth, I have 2 X1600 512 Pro's and I had an X1600XT. I know these cards won't win any benchmarks, But you should be able to play better than that. They put up a pretty damn good fight against my 6800 GT OC in most games, except for (OpenGL).

If I were you I would look to another problem other than just the card itself. Maybe you need to do a little OS tweaking. Or when in doubt REFORMAT:laugh:
