atitool freezing and restarting

hello, i have a x800gto2 LE witch i have upgraded to a x850 with the bios change... thing, unlocking 4 more pipelines, i even put on some arctic silver 5. however now when i am trying to overclock my card, the screen goes blank if i put it up too high and after it comes back the fan speed is at zero and not only is the 3d view greyed but the frequencies are wrong, if i minimize it and bring it back up it goes a few below the defualt. it also comes up occationally with a "cannot init 3d view" or something.
