BF3 + Rain and overemphasized reflections plus microtransactions = BF4. That's my prediction anyways... My expectations are low as usual.

As long as BF4 is Free initially + microtransactions, Im okay with. If its $50 with microtransactions on top of that. They can go get bent.

that is always the way companies spew out the exact same game but pass it off as new. they simply shine up the graphics a bit and add pointless things like rain. just look at the COD franchise. those gamers have been shelling out over $500 bucks to play the exact same thing since COD2.

Pretty sure that's exactly what it'll be, plus other charges for expansions again.

imo It's not actually crashing to the point that we should be worried, in fact its growing bigger everyday. Video game budget and revenues are getting close to or better than hollywood blockbuster movies (for example GTA IV had $100M Budget, and revenue was $500M in the first week alone)

while many video game companies are indeed crashing, its just because of bad management, poor creativity, slow production(or rushed), and greedy tactics(like EA/Activision).

and as one company goes down, many more will take its place, to try the video game industry and its wide market, hoping not to make the same mistakes the previous company did. many indie games and companies are popping out now, kickstarter, greenlight or own budget, they want to have a slice in the video game industry, that's how big a market it is.

I really feel bad for DICE and their series Battlefield to be owned by EA, Its a great game, but It could be a lot better, imagine a DICE owned by Taketwo/Rockstar? Valve? Bethesda?

meh. ive seen most of that video. gamers today are spoiled children who will pay for any game if it looks cool. gamers are a dumb crowd so as long as dumb people exist the gaming industry will do just fine.

Yeah well we are not the "average gamer" these days starting with the fact we play on expensive PCs geared towards such. We tend to be a bit more intelligent and discerning as game consumers, too.

So he wasn't really talking about you. Though something is definitely up his ass today.

I understand that he was generalizing, I was just pointing out that (as he is quite aware) there are many people that game that are not as he describes.

I wasn't really gone anywhere. Anyway I'm a bit afraid of Arma, too realistic (a soldier's life is boring if you think of it) and time consuming.

Back to BF4, I will probably don't have any choice but buy it. Battlefield is all I play on a regular basis. Big maps is all I want (so I can hide properly) and many players (surely there will be some worse than me)

I'm afraid I kind of feel the opposite, but maybe I'm more of a pessimist.

I don't thin BC2 looks better, but it sure isn't that much worse. And BF3 has more detailed destruction (smaller destruction zones). But it has far less destruction, and yeah I'd rather have larger destruction zones with that increased destruction.

I've only ever been impressed by one microtransaction system, and that was from league of legends.

Yeah I had that happen with Orhan. It wasn't Orhan when it happened was it ?
I know I had him and he spun after I put my arm around him and stabbed me:wtf:
I was so pissed because it was about the only time I'd got close to knifing him:mad:

I don't know sometimes I drop in on a game or 2 and certain maps look pretty sweet.
Then others look horrible. Atacama and Valdez come to mind.
