Storage 256GB PCIE SSD/256GB PNY UHS-1 SD Card
Display(s) 15.6' 1080P
Case Aluminium

Software Win 10
These are the requirements-
Good build quality-metal build preferably
Good speakers
Needs a bright and good screen
i5/i7
Atleast 8GB RAM
Backlit keyboard (if possible) + good touch pad
GT750M/GTX850M or better
Atleast 256GB of storage

So far I've seen:
Gigabyte U24F- made of plastic and the screen is extremely dim
and the Gigabyte P34G v2-the build quality is ok, speakers are a bit quiet and the screen is nice but not too bright

The alienware m14x seems to bulky and fat, don't like the look of it

Any others you can recommend? Something like a 13 inch MBP with a dedicated video card, except a windows machine

if you doubled your budget you could get a GT70 with the 880m
a 860 isn't gonna be quite enough for high settings and full 60FPS @ 1080p
it will run at about 45-50FPS 60FPS should be attainable on most titles if you drop a setting or two on most titles

this would just fit within your budget its the 870m
http://www.amazon.com/dp/B00IXQE4JQ/?tag=tec06d-20

a 870m gets you to just a sea-hair short of a 60FPS in bf4 on HIGH no AA no ultra tho if you cut the SSAO and HBAO you could sqeeese ultra out of it

its a 17inch tho and its a bit on the fat side
but you aren't gonna get a "thin" gaming laptop they simply don't exist all the gpu power needs cooling and cooling means thick

That's a bit too big and bulky for me. I'd preferably go for a 14 inch, unless its 15.6, slim and ticks all the boxes.

here the 15.6 version

again you don't get "thin" from a gaming laptop all the heat has to go someplace
unless you don't care about reliability or that it might melt the skin off your knees
if you want thin save up and buy a over priced under powered "RaZr blade"

If I was going for 15.6 I'd go for something like this http://www.amazon.com/dp/B00KXFSZSG/?tag=tec06d-20

I'd be pretty embarrassed to pull out that MSI laptop in public

The only thing close to MPB size that is even remotely capable of gaming is that overpriced Razer Blade .
The reason the m14x is so bulky is because it has proper cooling for its components unlike most of the other "gaming" laptops

From the ones I have worked on Alienware or Asus would be my choice, the other ones have sketchy build quality and poor designs.

I was looking at the Asus UX302LG, seems nice with a 730M and only 13.3 inches, but can't seem to find one anywhere

It's the equivalent of a 640M which I've had a laptop with and it gamed pretty good, albeit at 720p res

A 730m is barely a gfx card and will struggle with games even at 720 tho the screen is 1080, also metal frames are actually pretty crap most of the time

The Asus G550 you linked is pretty good new model comes out soon http://www.amazon.com/dp/B00KOUILK2/?tag=tec06d-20
Yeah, I've had my eye on it for a while. In Australia it goes for $1800, I'll wait for the new model and order off Amazon.

I just wish Asus realised that there is no point for a num pad and could make the laptop look so much nicer with a centred keyboard.

May i suggest the MSI GS60 Ghost.
16 GB RAM
Intel i7 CPU
Geforce 860m GPU
Price: $1699

It is about as thin as a macbook pro/air. The downside: no optical drive.
