Hi Everyone,
I currently have Logitech Z-640 5.1 speakers. Unfortunately, the center speaker is too bulky and can’t be placed on the top of my LCD monitor (can’t place the speaker in front of the monitor’s base either, no room).
I’m thinking of replacing my current speakers with either the Logitech X-530 or X-540. According to the reviews, the center speaker has a clamp that makes it possible for it to be mounted on LCDs.
Does anyone have any input on the X-530/X-540? Or perhaps different speakers? I’m looking for spend no more than $100 – in fact, the cheaper the better. I use my speakers 80% for listening to music/tv and 20% for gaming.
I bought some Altec lansing 2.1 speakers for about $30 for another computer recently. At mid-volume, the sound quality sounds more crisp than my Z-640! I figured enough time has passed since the Z-640s were released that today’s budget 5.1 speakers should be much better. Am I right?
Thanks in advance for your thoughts!
