call of duty ghosts (online issues )

Hi all.

I have been playing call of duty ghosts for a while and never got an issue, but last night i wanted to play in extinction mode online and wasn't possible because every time I tried the game crashed, it gaves me an error about the openGL Driver.

Could someone tell me what could be causing this issue?

Seems odd it's crashing with an openGL error, I thought Cod only used directx.

I tryed to find some info on the net and this is all i could see.

I don't have an nvidia card so can't test any of this.

I know both links and I tried both solutions but nothing helps.

If I am not wrong this issue happened after I installed the latest drive from nvidia

Then all i can say for now is go back to the old driver that worked.

Most the info i see on the net points me back to the links i posted so im all out of ideas.

I did reinstall the old driver but nothing, now it's getting worst because the whole game is giving me errors and crashing

Do other games work fine? Have you ensured that the machine you're using is stable? If the answer to both of those questions is yes, then I would re-install the game and fully clean out your GPU drivers. If either answer is no, then I would run at stock until you figure out what exactly is causing the errors.

The game was running without problems until last night, btw the answer is yes.

How can I clean out the GPU drivers?

Not sure if it's the same for nvidia drivers but this is how i remove my ati drivers.

First i use programs and features to uninstall ati drivers then i manually delete any left over folders from c: but i will say this is just a habbit of mine and i don't necessarily have to delete files manually

I then restart the pc and then i will run Display Driver Uninstaller and restart pc again then install the new driver or the driver that works best for me.

So last night I uninstalled the game and did a fully clean out of the drivers, next I reinstalled the latest drivers and reinstalled the game, but nothing helped,
The Game crashed, the only thing is that the openGL error doesn't appear anymore,

One thing, I play titanfall online and never had issues or crash, the problem in Call of duty ghosts is just when I want to play extinction mode online (Multiplayer)

I had a similar issue with arma 3 crashing due to openGL and one of the fixes was to reinstall directx. I do not know if you have done that or not but its worth a try.

I will try that too,
I was thinking something that could sound silly, could be my Internet connection?
Because when I want to play as I said before (Multiplayer mode) it says status Nat: moderate, the game find the players load everything but game just crash when we are ready to start.

Maybe could be the SSD where my games are installed.

Got any steam games? They typically have folders inside their local files with DirectX installers. Installer all the DX9 10 and 11 installers you find, or download from MS. Could be a missing file from one of the various DX monthly library updates. It's been an issue for me once in the past, but it was a 2009 DX file.

Last night I was playing online for 3 hours CoD Worked great, so that's mean that there is not a problem with the game, it's just an Exclusivity when I want to play extinction mode Multiplayer, when I play extinction mode single player it doesn't happen..

Killing the game and causing a crash? I'd like to think the developers made an error code that would describe that instead of an OpenGL error.

Are you running more than one screen buy any chance Knoxx29? From what i have been reading there are a few posts poping up that are saying to change some settings in the nvidia control panel.

It seems COD does not like multi screen setups when trying to play multiplayer.
1. Go to the "Nvidia Control panel".
2. From there go into "Manage 3d settings" (might be named different for some).
3. From there go into "program settings".
4. From there select "program to customize".
5. Find COD: Ghosts which should be called iw6mp64_ship.exe and select it,
6. Once that is selected go to multi-display/mixed-GPU acceleration and change it from multiple display performance mode to Single display mode.

I am just running one display,
Before we get more confused, I can play multiplayer because if I can play online that's multiplayer, what I can't play is extinction mode Multiplayer..

I am almost convinced That is my Internet connection refusing players and making the game crash...

you can try to delete its cfg file in players2 folder


btw is it something like Unexpected expection caught?

If yes then this is also bad cpu OC or system ram OC fault..

It has nothing to do with overclock settings otherwise The Other games would have problems too, I play for hours and hours other games in multiplayer mode include CoD and I don't have issues, I would exclude the fact that could be a bad overclock.

Some games just don't like overclocks so never rule it out just because everything else seems stable.

I can run the 4k firestrike benchmark and a lot of my games with my gpu overclocked to 1100mhz but then i will try playing certain games and they will crash with a driver error because my GPU is not 100% stable at 1100mhz core.

Have you tryed the game without overclocking just to rule it out?
