I have 2 3870's, 1 MSI and 1 Gecube the thing is the MSI card the fan fix was already on as far as the auto speed control but the Gecube was from the original batch and don't adjust the fan properly if at all :ohwell: ..

My question is can I flash my Gecube with the same bios that my MSI has and if I do will it hurt the Gecube in any way?.. Overall the specs are exactly the same except the MSI clock is 800 vs. the Gecube's 777 this way the fan control works properly..

If flashing the Gecube with the MSI bios is not a good idea how do I know which of the Gecube bios's here on the site are set for the fixed fan control?

Technically you can, but it is not advised, plus actually doing so requires certain changes that I cannot be 100% sure of. My best suggestion is go throw the VGA BIOS on the site and see if there is an updated GeCube BIOS.

Well there are multiple "updated" bios's but how do I know which have the "fixed" fan control

Benchmark Scores It does boot up? I think.
If the cards are physically identical then you can cross-flash.

Meaning that if the card has the same specs as say the Gecube one, then you can. But, like Dark has said.. Only if you REALLY want to. Voids warr.

In GPU-Z what does the BIOS version for the GeCube say, and maybe dump both BIOS' from the cards in GPU-Z and upload them here, I will have a look and see if maybe I can figure something out.

I just matched the fan profile from the MSI to the GeCube, so just flash with that updated BIOS and everything should be better. Attached ZIP file has the original BIOS and updated BIOS.

lol ghost101 I know the clocks are better on the MSI I'm running that card now :p

But the fanspeed thing IS what I was most interested in the clocks are easy to duplicate with a bit of oc on the Gecube which oc's very well better than the MSI actually..
