Volta might be a dual GPU just like Navi. Especially if you consider information floating around about it from both companies. Besides smaller die equals better yields less money to produce lower overall price (the last one i'd like to see but not necessarily true.)

I think those MCM designs, Navi and unknown name (Nvidia), are coming after. Volta is already released btw, it's a monolithic architecture as usual. Changes are improvements in compute, eg better suited for DX12.

edit:
To clarify: it's already been released as a server/pro GPU. Consumer version of it would go the same route as Pascal, simply see what happened after GP100 was released (big big server/pro pascal). Expect shrinks of Volta like GP104 and GP102 being called GV104 and GV102. The current state of Volta is, it's about 800mm² big, pretty much fucking big in terms of die sizes for anything CPU/GPU.

MCM is actually NVidia's. Forgot what it's called for AMD. I'm searching the web but of course if you wanna find something it never pops on the screen. :)

BTW: What was the professional graphics Pascal die size? I don't thing NV has released dual GPU's in the professional segment? Yet?

YES, you can have Volta Ti at that time, if you dont mind with the price ofc. The new Titan Volta is basically early Ti version, so they want you pay a hefty price to get early performance. The real Ti Volta will likely to come out in 2019.
 Now you are just making stuff up. Please stop passing speculation as fact.

There has been no info released timewise yet. Last word was no Volta this year. Period. That pushes everything back.

I think it will have a advantage in DX12, it is pretty likely to be the case. A bigger Pascal? That's not how Nvidia is doing things. They usually are a innovative company. And a bigger Pascal wouldn't help too much, it's maybe a tad faster - but why spend lots of millions on re-designing a bigger Pascal when you can do the same with Volta? See? You're making no f sense.
Lol thanks for talking some sense into me.
I was just thinking about what JHH said about Pascal being unchallenged in the gaming segment, and I thought they may wanna delay gaming volta on purpose. Now that I think about it it really isn't how nvidia is doing things. It'd be stupid to spend huge money on a new architecture and then choose to stay on the old one. The new architecture has got to pay for itself and then bring a profit.

If you're talking about their consumer line of GPUs, then I hope you're joking.

OP said june 2018, Im pretty sure nvidia would have released/at least announced volta consumer at that time. If you look at the past nvidia always release their new hi end gen every year, we got pascal 1080 last year and 1080ti this year, volta should be the next year, and I dont think there will be a Pascal refresh or something like that.
