Like said it's a 69xx problem, the game runs perfectly fine on my 4870 too.

sorry for not replying before; yes, I also tried deactivating all the goodies from the CCC, but the results are exactly the same. I really think that this game can't use the new structure (VLIW4) in the Cayman GPUs or something like this. Does it run fine on 68xx?

Have you tried a different resolution?

i have the exact same problem mate im running it on the max settings 8x aa and at 1600x1050, gettin between 40-50 fps xfx 6950 unlocked shadders @950mhz and 1300 on ram.

You have to disable light shafts, it's a driver bug. Lemme find the info here...

Also, you should google to change fov if you have eyefinity and disable smoothing. It eats up fps.
