Counter-Strike:Source updated.. Can't even start the game now.

Yupp. They did it again. Now all I get is some "steam connect on replay.dll failed".
Tried to google it, ofcourse first hit was Steam forums. Not much there.. just others with same problem as I have.

Anyone got a good solution?

Yup, try the usual stuff.

Try a cache integrity check first (right click the program name). It'll probably be ok, so close Steam, delete clientregistry.blob from your Steam folder, then run Steam.

Done that already, the sad part is - still doesn't work. Also when updating, I had to switch download server, for some reason it always got stuck on like 60% then 79%..


EDIT: Ok, I did this - removed the blob file, removed the .dll file. But first.. I selected another server for downloading updates.. Voilá!

Help!!!!!!!!

I have the same issue just finished dl and i cant launch the game now. What BS!!!!

Ok, do following: First - select another server than the one that was "given" to you.
It will say you need to restart Steam, press ok, but when it has restarted just press cancel.

Now you have to move to where Steam installed, usually it's located at program files\steam. When you are in the steam folder, go to steamapps\user\counter-strike source\bin. The file you want to move / delete is called "replay.dll".

After that move back until you endup at Steam folder, there you will move / delete the ClientRegistry.blob file.

Now launch Steam and it shall start to update again. You should be able to play the game normal now.
