I'm not sure what's going on with my overclocked q6600 on Asus p5q. I was running it fine at around 3.1 ghz, fsb around 345. Now all of a sudden, cpu-z says I am only running 2.04 GhZ...the FSB is still 345 mhz, but the multiplier is now at x6.0 instead of x9???

Realtemp also shows me at around 2.04...but strangely if i click system properties it still shows me at 3.06.

Why did my multiplier drop like this?

I recently changed the battery on the mobo and also upgraded my ram, could either of those have anything to do with it?

Put the system under some load. It is just EIST/C1E thermal throttling doing what it's supposed to do.

It's speedstep. It lowers the multiplier when the CPU is not being used so it runs cooler. Keep it on.. There is really no reason to turn it off.
