...you can even give dfi a call and they will tell you that..dfi boards hate value ram..and i also see that you have my board..
This is bullshit.
They just don't like helping with valueram.
Theres no difference between value ram and high end ram. (aside from timings it will run)
I've run all sorts of "value ram" in my DFI boards.
But yes, set it to 2T first.
If the board wont boot with the sticks in the other slots, but it will the first two, you probably need to rma the board.
Also be sure to check out memtest. If the one stick gives you a bsod and other doesn't you could have a bad stick.
In todays mobos you should be able to use any combination of the 4 slots and get a stable machine. Dual channel or not.
