ddr3, what to buy

1866mhz cl9 or 2133mhz cl11. Which is better. what is more important: timing or frequency?

Benchmark Scores Faster than yours... I'd bet on it. :)
That is really going to be the same difference.. the 2133Mhz may be a little slower. That said, there is no point in buying anything more than DDR3 1600mhz as faster memory shows little to no gains outside of benchmarking.

If you are limiting your choice to those, the 1866 CL9 will likely run 2133 CL11 with some manual tweaking.

I recently bought 16GB of G.Skill Sniper CL9 2133 @ $54 per 8GB. Here - The price point is the best I could find.

The latency with DDR3 is much mor of a factor than it was with DDR or DDR2. The 1866CL9 will be pretty close in performance to 2133CL11
