I see the Dell is curved. Is the iiyama? If not then it depends on if you want curved or not.

both curved

only big downside no usb hub, any ideas to overcome? without interfering with response time of mouse and keyboard connecting it over an alternate route not in monitor or back of desktop

Guess I don't know. If it were me I would just buy one of those half decent USB hubs so I don't have to run keyboard/mouse wires everywhere. But I also use wireless keyboard/mouse...

And I don't think they really impact latency unless you are a pro gamer.

I got 2 old dell monitors that I've been rough on and they both work great. One in my sig and the other I dunno the model but it's an old 3:4 aspect one! It's been dropped twice n still works!

Samsung is good too look into them as well I have one that's like 14 years old now and it's for my main workstation and still looks and acts good!!

when sober thinking is activated in hindsight i must confirm that the dell one is very well more polished and indeed the cooling features makes sense for longer use.
Agree that samsung is good as well never had bad experience with their display/ monitor products.

Could you give an example of smeary black trailing, say i play skyrim and enter a cave, what exactly does it do to my visuals?

aoc model? you mean the dell one? things look blurry
i don't mind it you saying there is smearing in darker scenes but i want to make sure its not exxagorated and the dell monitor is still reasonable quality for its price

Similar AOC model, still VA, curved 165 Hz, but if you want here's what 5 sec searching in youtube will get you:

That 'VA panel Dell is horrible for gaming - "black areas in particular" - where smearing can be annoying asf, very similar to its older brother:

Between this two - my vote goes to that iiyama gb3271qsu-b1 - even tho i can't say that i tried it, has mostly positive reviews and a IPS panel (165 Hz as well) - which is usually good both for gaming and office.

I got lost in the model number cipher, my bad.

I was looking at this one.
pretty sure its going to be the curved one iiyama - G-Master GCB3280QSU-B1, recents user reviews from non biased reviews (user experience after bought) are very good..
Although i see the samsung oddyssey g65b is coming down in price its image quality doesnt convince me.. and refresh rate 240 is way to high for the mid specced hardware i have
even if i had better hardware i find 150ish frames more than enough only for fast paced games

No one's experience here is a statistically significant sample size.

That said I owned a 24" 1080p FHD Dell monitor. It lasted 13 years.

Today I have two monitors. One is a 27" UHD monitor from LG for productivity tasks. The other is a 32" Dell QHD monitor for gaming. I bought the latter because of my experience with the 24" unit.
