    Hey all,

I have a new gigabyte EX58a-UD3R. It has this feature called Dynamic Energy Saver 2, it can show the current power usage of the cpu. At full stock it shows that my cpu is only using 8 watts! I think that astounding, when i have my 930 at 4ghz, it shows around 130-140w. It isnt stable just yet, but that wattage was recorded at 1.26v.

I find these figures interesting, but im not sure if its true. Im sure many people here have equipment to check for these things as well so i want to ask if DES is actually showing the true power usage.

    Thanks in advanced

no, the figures are innacurate. they might get lucky and be close sometimes, but they're wrong by a large margin sometimes.

Grab yourself a cheap wall meter, and find out the real numbers for yourself.
