Hello everyone I’m kinda new to the forums, my current rig is as follows.

E8400 OC to 3.7 GHz
3x sata HD’s
1 optical drive
4gigs of OCZ memory
P5Q deluxe mobo
Two 1 gig each 4870’s in cross fire
Cooler master stacker 830 with 8 blue fans “Loud!”
OCZ gameextreme 700w PSU

I currently only have an OCZ game extreme 700w PSU (it was good when I had just one 4870) but now that I have two I have been forced to back my over clocks way down, the 700w just can’t do it.

So I have bin looking for a new PSU, I almost bought a Ultra X3 1000w but then quickly found allot of people had issues with them so now I’m looking at ether the Enermax Revolution 850w-1050w or the Corsair 850w-1000 HX PSU's.

I’m stuck I don’t know which one to get I would like to know which one is more power efficient? Also I do like the look of the Enermax better BUT everyone is talking about the Corsair and how kick butt they are so really which one is better? I see nothing but great reviews for both of these PSU’s so which one from a quality and efficiency stand point is better?

I’m somewhat looking for the cheapest hydro bill at the end of the month, so that’s why I am so keen on having the most efficient modular PSU in ether 800w/1000w that I can get. Also I know that 850w would do just fine but for the extra cash should I go for the more future proof Enermax 1050 or Corsair HX1000?

I read the reviews from johnyguru and it looks like the Corsair has cleaner soldering then the Enermax, however the Enermax seems to be more efficient do to how its rails are utilized. I’m totally stumped , my max budget is 350 CAD, I can get ether one for that price at my local retailer. So which one...which one!

Enermax Revolution 850w
Enermax Revolution 1050w

Corsair HX850w
Corsair HX1000w

Thanks for your time folks! :)

I've always been partial to Enermax, but any of those choices will serve you very nicely. Get whatever fits your budget best.

Thanks for the speedy replies guys. Actually the Corsair HX850 and the Enermax Revolution are around the same price. At outletnicx.com I can get the HX850 for 229.00 CAD and at pccanada.ca I can get the Enermax Revolution for the same price. I can actually get the Revolution 1050 cheaper then the HX1000 as well, so the Enermax in my area is the cheapest.

I'm so stumped!

Well outletnicx just lowered their price on the HX1000 and are giving a 44 dollar rebate (oddly there is no rebate offered on the HX840) so after the rebate the HX1000 is only 219 which makes it “cheaper” then the HX850, I seen that’s and couldn’t pass it up. I am now the owner of a corsair HX1000w.

Another thing that made me go Corsair was the soldering quality, from the pics I have seen it seems to be cleaner and higher quality then the Enermax, though I’m not taking anything away from the Enermax in fact if they would have had a 5 year warranty I probably would have bought it as it looks nicer lol.

Thanks for the opinions guys, I would still like to know how many vote for corsair vs Enermax though :)
