I ran Passmark 8.0, it shows my 5400 RPM HDD getting Sequential Read speeds that would be amazing for a SSD, and that are freaking ridiculous for a mechanical drive.

Specifically 1,575 MB/s.....

What's a better benchmark for sequential read speeds?

Benchmark Scores Nyooom.
somethings clearly caching your data and messing with the results. i've seen software for USB 3.0 devices come with features like that before.
