I've posted a couple threads before, communicating with TPU Eve-Online players, and seems to be a good bunch of guys. Heck, I've found very few TPUers who aren't. But I wanted to announce officially to all TPU EVE Players my that I'm officially running for the upcoming CSM5 - 2010, and would like to garner your votes. (or if you don't play but know someone who does, tell them to vote for me! =) It's gonna be a lot of work, but I am willing to put it in.

In case you're wondering, CSM is the "Council of Stellar Management," a group of players elected by the Eve playerbase to serve as intercessors between CCP & the players. They have a direct line of communication with CCP, and have the ability now to adjust the priorities of the development cycle for the game. I would like your vote for this responsibility.

Below is my official campaign message that I posted on the Eveonline forums. Actually if you agree, please post your support of me on those forums as well that'd be great for the public, and to get bumps:
http://www.eveonline.com/ingameboard.asp?a=topic&threadID=1306978

Thanks for reading guys. Happy Flying!

Eve is an amazing experience, that you make by your every 'little' day-to-day action. Big new features are great, but everyday gameplay could use some real tightening. From the UI to Travel; from Contracts to Jump Clones; from Missions to PvP, and Mining even... Fix the Little Things First! Tighten everyday gameplay, improve flow and efficiency, polish those previously released 'big' features... strengthen the foundation of Eve!

It's said that it only takes 5 small things to make a disaster. Those 5 seemingly little things that all worked together to make your op go south, to annoy you, to bore you to death... ruin your day of playing a game. Before you know it then, by fixing just a few little things, a synergy emerges that vastly improves the way you enjoy EVE. I'm the man to help you enjoy EVE.

We all have that one little thing that we'd really like to improve/change/fix. Something that you keep thinking, "Man, wouldn't it be nice if they..." but you never tell anyone. Tell me. I'm the man to get that little thing done.

Hey Surfs,

I saw just saw an article on the last CSM meeting. Looked like fun. :D
Best wishes in your run.

Note to the rest of you ...
There is nothing in TPU rules about a thread like this. It is game related and not offensive.
I do not play EVE, so I cannot support anyone there.
If you wish to offer your support in this thread, feel free.

Good luck to ya man. I was one of those people who experienced the 5 little things.
The game had something great to it, but like you said, it just couldn't seal the long term deal.
I had a pretty decent character on there to.
If final fantasy online could seal the deal for like 5 years, eve should of been able to top that.
Space is my favorite place, I live on sci-fi and the science channel..lol
It just bored me with the monotony and repetition. The difficulty of actually raising ranks is insurmountable though. That will never be addressed because the 'big time players" will not let it be addressed.

That game is owned by the people who started playing eve when it came out.
You cannot catch up to them unless your willing to dedicate your life to that game.
It expects to much and gives to little in return, except for the occasional raid party or mining expedition, which gets repetitious. the only thing it seems to offer is nice scenery. Unless your willing to play it for 10 years as if it's a job. Or Real money trade to the point that your giving away thousands of dollars a year, to something that is completely intangible.

Ok I just checked it out Taz, no one from your alliance is running. If I could get the support of you, and your alliance that'd be fantastic.

Yea I saw that last night but 4got to say anything lol. But I will post something in my chat about it.
EDIT: And my Alliance is Aspire One

sweet deal mate. I plan on looking up alliances that do not have candidates running, and trying to contact their leadership for their support.

Glad I have yours! If you have any suggestions, or questions, lemmie know always.

Best wishes on your campaign, Surfs :toast:

The latest (June) issue of PC Gamer had a 6 page spread on how CCP flew the entire CSM to Reykjavik, Iceland for a meeting with the devs. Looks like it was quite the party.

My favorite snippet from the article ...
CCP has fun in some very unique ways.

It began with one of the CCP employees decing that, instead of golfing, he'd rather just hop in a golf cart and deliver booze to his collegues. It ended with -- I'm told -- at least four people hanging off the sides of the golf cart with wine bottles in their hands until they crashed into a fence.

 They definitely like to party in Iceland. The article was a great read.

hahaha ya CCP is a really fun company. The ability to see their facilities and work alongside them is one of the highlights to this whole thing if I'm elected. I'm not really swoon by the free trip to iceland thing... to get my wife to come with would be another $2000US for just the flight, so I'm goin it solo. It's just the ability to work with these great guys to help them see the real wants and needs of the players, help them make this game even better by implementing actually feasible, basic solutions to everyday gameplay, instead of trying to completely change the balance of the game.

Another example of their great attitude : http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=VgvM7av1o1Q (NSFW ironically lol)

Thanks for your support Kreij, you've been awesome.

All of you EVE-O players, make sure you get out there and vote! Support your TPU mate! Voting ends soon, so get it done quick!
