It's called a hobby. Hobbies are sometimes expensive. Do you question why people buy boats, luxury cars, top end instruments, top end A/V equipment, etc., etc?

I laughed every time I fried one of my 8800GT's. All 4 of them. (Of course, I got them for free, so it didn't cost me anything anyway.)

I'm guessing that guy either has enough money that it doesn't really effect him, or he's sponsored.

Yes people do buy a Super bike, then go out and buy something like a Veyron a week later. That's their prerogative too.

You have completely failed to make any point what so ever. This is what he likes to do with his time and money. And by reselling the things he's done testing, it keeps his hardware costs down. Not only that, but much of this stuff he gets in trade, so it all ends up costing a lot less than you think in the long run.

Either way, just because you don't like it, doesn't mean he needs to hear about it in his FS thread. He's not doing this to seek any approval from you or anyone else.
