EVGA and k|ngp|n Smash the 3DMark Vantage World Record at over P70,000!

What do you get when you cross the world’s #1 PC hardware with the world’s #1 extreme overclocker? You get the first platform to officially break P70,000 points in 3DMark Vantage!

Vince "k|ngp|n" Lucido and EVGA took over the top spot in the 3DMark Hall of Fame on 10/11/2010 with a Performance score of over 70,000 and still climbing. This is just further proof of EVGA’s continued dedication to the enthusiast community. This score was achieved on an EVGA Classified SR-2 motherboard, with 4x EVGA GTX 480’s and an EVGA Classified SR-2 1200w Power Supply.

With these record breaking performance scores and enthusiast features, it is no wonder why EVGA products are the number one choice amongst overclockers, enthusiasts and gamers!

With enough LN, backing of major companies, and a "beta" version of 7 on a 5.4Ghz "unknown" processor that is probably cherry picked anyone could do the same. Plus the crap of cuda physx that is used in all 13 games?

ATI or Nvidia, fun to watch, but it ruins this for the rest of us. They need to exclude these sort of results, or force them to buy all hardware from newegg and get the same chances the rest of us get.

See if they wanted to really show they care, they would disassemble the system and send it to their customers :p

Why don't EVGA have insane pre-over-clocked cards then.

    Lame news isn't even news.

 The sad part is you are 100% correct.

It's not like you can play Crysis and fill 9 LN2 pots at the same time...

Vince...it's time to just submerge the pc in the LN2. Once it doesn't boot, when you pick it up to smash it with a hammer, it'll shatter in billions on little tiny bits, and you can do some real damage....damaging the WR for a bench just ain't what it used to be.

EVGA, you just spent $15000+ on a world record, that maybe 1000 people around the globe care about. GPUs are at LOW clocks(1250, please, m'kay?), cpus not even @ 6ghz? You could have done BETTER. 75000 is there, in hardware today. Problaby in THAT hardware, but if you haven't pushed the hardware to the max...seems kinda stupid. More coming? please. Come back when you've really got that system maxed. Not like the reaction will be different.

    NO feature tests?

So what, world records are now OK with modding the bench from default settings? THAT is interesting.

$15000, and you could have given away 30 GTX480, and won some comsumer loyalty. Wrong expenditure of marketing cash, if you ask me.

K|ngp|n can beat it himself(as he's already said the system was far from maxed).

It's stupid to set the bar so low, IMHO, just so you can top it later with the exact same hardware.

To beat the record(or even get remotely close), you need that SR2 motherboard. Pure cheap marketing, done by Team PURE.

As awesome as the SR2 is, it can't be clocked like other boards with single cpu's.

Two xeons at 5.4Ghz 24 threads?

The days of this being more than just meh are over. Certainly nice to see, but unattainable for 99% of people, and a waste of money in a poor economy. I agree they could have done better by making some "superclocked" editions and sell them to a few select people, or give them out for reviews to kill and show dominance.

So, even if it doesn't it is insanity.

I understand scaling. For example standardized I achieved to 7 decimal places .8534300, he achieved .5785108

Standardized for number of threads and core speed in Hz.

It is still like saying we can process your request four times as fast for 12 times the money and 200 times the effort, are we cool or what?
