Just a heads up, the EVGA X58 Ultimate FTW Edition will be releasing in December. There will be no "Step-Up" option as it is an "FTW" edition board. ;)

you don't need to ask Jacob for that. X58 chipset natively supports Xfire.

But EVGA wanted to show NVIDIA Love and that this is the only board that may feature hardware tri-SLI with x16 x16 x16 config at launch

Probably reserved for any future EVGA X58 FTW or EVGA X58 Ultra versions, or whatever name EVGA marketing team comes up with. Kind of like with MSI and their Eclipse and Platinum versions, both of which are non-NF200 IC based and their as of yet un-photographed but announced NF200 based version. (MSI X58 Diamond?)

I'm guessing with the economic troubles as they are, EVGA is waiting to see how much of a demand there is for plain X58 boards, before they go ahead with any even more expensive NF200 based boards.

if you push the board too far, it's what it defaults too (at least on my dfi that is)
