Doesn't look like much compared to Crysis. Keep in mind guys that this is NOT being made by Crytek studios. They sold the FarCry name.

Oh dear. I do hope FarCry 2 doesnt turn out to be the "new" FarCry in the same way that Soldier of Fortune Payback completely TRASHED the SOF franchise and loyal fans.

I highly doubt it, the only thing this game has in common with the original is the game. I wouldn't be getting all excited over it if I didn't think it was going to be a good game.

Thats what we all thought about SOF3 :-(

Problem was... original designers and programmers had all moved on. "Franchise name" was sold. Company that bought it hired an el-cheapo games development company with limited experience to do a console-port-to-PC version. SUCKED BIG TIME.

    SUPERFLOP. Franchise dead.

    Good point!

We'll just have to wait and see, even if the game is shite, I'll still be able to run around burning people and things. I like burning things! That alone is enough for me to buy this game, unless it's really shit, obviously.

    :D

I think it looks pretty good... from what ive seen (I saw a couple of videos a few months back and those looked great... huge map... intelligent AI who chase you down etc..)

It looks really pretty aswell and the clouds, sky, trees, grass & shadows are fantastic!
Im looking forward to it (and crossfire to run it)

Yeah, but FarCry 2 is made by Ubi Montreal so no worries. ;)

Anyway I must agree with AphexDreamer, about the pistol. And also think that tree regeneration, though cool, must be the most irrelevant and worthless feature ever implemented in a game. If any close to reality, it would take years to regenerate a single branch, so I don't see the point. Unless has something to do with the plot. If not I don't think we are going to experience the change, call me unbeliever, but I don't think the game would last years to finish it. :p

lol, do we really need tree regeneration? that supposed to take years to happen and the gameplay will probably be ~10 hours, not 10 years
will there be missions to protect the trees? will trees be my enemies or friends?
Don't get me wrong, I think it might be technically great idea, but in this particular game it doesn't have much use.

I dont like how you shoot the tree branch and the branch spins like 3 times then falls to the ground. should be like crysis and just fall.
