A step closer but still GPU load =56% . CPU load 74% .

i remember a boy with FX 4100 (7% slower than x9650 ) and a slower video card and had bottleneck . But here the difference is too much for me to believe that it is only a bottleneck .
thats a QX cpu bump the multi to 10.5 and set the vcore to 1.25
it should do 3.5 at those settings
really tho old cpu is old you are going to be cpu limited unless you overclock it

I was thinking about doing x10-10.5 but if my CPU temp is 70 degrees at x9, don't you think it would get to hot if I increased? I'll be running the game for looong hours, haha.

replace the cooler ;) thats gonna be the solution here
either overclock the snot out of it or junk the board cpu and ram and build new ;)
you have a little bit of room with the temps if you give it a good cleaning and some fresh paste

What else do you think is wrong, besides maybe needing to overclock it?

Got it, yah paste is pretty fresh, I'll give it a good dust and may buy a liquid cooler!

benchmarks mean nothing when it comes to real world performance nothing wrong with your machine other then its past its prime
everything I have read on BDO tells me its entirely cpu bound
slap a decent cooler on it and wind it out to 4ghz

yep the game(s) you are testing it out on are probably more CPU than GPU intensive what kind of GPU load do you get during furmark, 3dmark etc?

Benchmark Scores Nyooom.
dont forget that CPU load shows a total, not per core.
seeing 50% load means two cores are maxed out, for example.

Spend <$40 on a decent air cooler, OC it to ~3.5Ghz and enjoy the boost.

Well I'd hope when someone monitors cpu load they would use a utility that measures all cores/threads individually so they know which cores are being stressed also.

Software my favorite World of Tanks :) is that a software?? :)
So I have an update: I tried my friend's GTX 560ti which is pci-e 2.0 just like my old Radeon HD 4870 1G. There was literally no difference in FPS between the 560ti (pci-e 2.0) & 660ti (pci-e 3.0). I guess tells me that it isn't a backwards compatibility issue.

I also want to mention that the FPS is the worst in a city or when I'm with my guild - aka when there are a lot of other players around me in the game. It drops to 9 FPS when I'm doing a guild event.

Does anyone have a better idea what the issue is based on these new updates??

Thanks in advance!

All the games that have lots of players on one place( MMORPG) ,like cityes and as you said guilds its mostly depends on your cpu power not that much of a gpu!! trust me been there!!that gpu is realy not that bad ,but i dont know if that is an option but its maybe time to upgrade MOBO/CPU....

Definitely time for an upgrade if he can afford it even the cheapest i3 or i5's on the market are far faster than his current CPU even the 6 and 8 series FX chips would easily outpace his current CPU.

I replaced my old Radeon HD 4870 1GB with a GTX 660 Ti, and am actively playing Black Desert Online.

On my Radeon I was getting 40 FPS on average in Black Desert on the Medium Graphics settings. However, I am capped at 30 FPS on Medium with my new GTX 660 Ti.

I did the clean graphics driver install (using wagnard tools), and tried many different suggested NVIDIA control panel settings, including turning off Vsync, using max performance power management (I think this helped boost from 25 to 30), etc.

See attached for my graphics card & computer specs. Anyone have any idea why my FPS would go down instead of up?

what is the brand, model and wattage rating of your power supply?

Also, I would disable physX entirely if you can. If you have it enabled on the GPU that'll slow down the GPU, if you have physX on the CPU it'll absolutely murder performance.

Not counting us Hexacore users right? Cuz swinging our dicks around pretty much gets the jobs done.

Now now, it's not about the cores that make you pleasurable; it's the performance it puts out and how you use it.

Intel wins

Needs spoiler tags. people might get butthurt here.
If they don't like my opinion onion then they can take it up with me. If they want to get butthurt from a 20 year old's opinion that is based on using processors from both sides then that's fine, at least try to act like an adult with doing so.

My PM box is quite lonely and I'd love a good debate.

Now now, it's not about the cores that make you pleasurable; it's the performance it puts out and how you use it.

Intel wins

Yes but Intel is only better at doing one thing at a time doing 4 or more things needs an AMD.

I'm not going to debate but my friend's 8350 loses against my 4790k on multithreaded tasks on a huge bases, both stock (or run at 4ghz)

I'm also not getting off topic anymore, if you want to debate then PM me but I'm going by the benches I saw in person with 8350vs4790k with multiple programs.
