its a shame that they wasted so much potential in Skulls and Bones, Ubisoft have everything for putting in it that game and make it pirate game, all the mechanics, raids, melee combat, treasure hunting. FFS
this game has more than S&B, i love pirate stories and game but it lacks adventure and discovery. They focused too much on the ships and added it worthless rpg elements.
Words cant express my frustration about this, but it feels empty for calling it a real pirate game.

Damn... What's up with Epic Games?! They been doing that for quite some time now. Some games are low budget so, sure... some free marketing helps from those who get them for free. But others are pretty high tier (production budget, graphics & game-play wise). I take it - this too are free for a limited time - to get promoted by those who play them. Funny enough (or ironic if you will) - this type of marketing - used to be done "with the help of piracy" 
That's how many games became so known/popular (most didn't afforded so they play the pirated version - and thus the news spread about those games being actually good enough to be worth buying by those who afford it). Even more than that - that's how Windows became so popular world wide. However was handling the marketing/sales department for Microsoft was not stupid (or maybe this was a fluck... far from an intended strategy - but they sure reaped the benefits). Sure, for the public eye they acted as if it's not ok - but never took any serious anti-piracy measures - quite the opposite - they rolled with it and made it easier to pirate and thus... to spread. And that, was the smartest Marketing move (be it dumb luck if you will) - long before free 2 play became a thing.
