I disagree, and I don't consider it ripping anyone off. They get a card that thinks it is an XT, performs identically to an XT, and for all intents and purposes is an XT.

You just took something, used your skills to improve it, and then sold it as the improved product.

It is no different than an wood carver taking a piece of wook he found and carving it into something then selling that something for a profit. It started as plain old wood, and not it is something else, does that mean he ripped the people off because he really just sold them wood?
No, that's not a good analogy. A piece of wood does not carry a serial number like a 2900Pro. What happens if the card breaks, and the person tries to rma it? It's a modded card, and would get turned down.

It's like putting a Countach conversion on a Fiero, and trying to sell it as an actual Lambo. It's wrong, and ILLEGAL.

You can only legally sell the card as a Pro flashed to an XT.

@ JC - Glad to see you sold it. I was considering offering my 2900XT for it, btw.

its not a good anology if X went and flashed all of the DVD-rom drives that came in there laptops to DVD-RW they would get the holy shit sued out of them by dell because it illegal and not good buisiness practices why should a privateer be any different

now if he were to sell it saying this is a modded card made to run like a XT he would be able to sell it @ more than a PRO price but less than the XTs would go for and it would be a good LEGAL sale
