Know more then you? Well that depends on the subject.
As for PCI cards, or PCIE, doesn't matter to me. I do not have any trouble playing any of my games, and the ones that i do, has nothing to do with PCI cards, its because of my CPU speed and Processor. So you guys stay happy with PCIE, and i will enjoy PCI.

Peace :)

In a state of flux...
Another useless topic from u2k asking what is better/what he should do for him to only ignore what he has been told and proceed to waste his money on crap. <=-

As stated above, and in numerous other topics, UPGRADE YOUR WHOLE PC! $400 on Newegg will get you a PC that will blow yours out the water..than you wont have to sit and play Stalker @ 800x600 all on Low with 15 - 25fps....if you really are a gamer you would know that 15 - 25fps in ANY game isn't good and if you enjoy playing games you wouldn't mess around with outdated cards.

Even a Atom based system would eat yours

My advice?? Get an Eee PC...even that would double your productivity while on the PC and it may even let you play more games. :wtf:

Seriously though; do yourself a favour (and everyone else on this forum) and go look on Newegg for a cheap AMD setup..even if its only a 4400+ with a cheap ECS board and RAM.

To save confusion.. I've deleted two of my posts, which is why #26 doesn't make sense. Just to let you know until u2konline makes an edit or two.

Buying a PCI card for an old rig is fine, pick them up in the classified section form someone who needs to get rid of them. They work fantastic for internet surfing. But he is lookign to pick up a PCI card for his main computer, and his new build. Without any real reasoning behind being a PCI gamer. I'm really wondering what games he is playing and what settings, because low settings is not playing a game fine, thats scraping by.

I could duct tape two roller blades together, cut the tops off and use it as a skateboard, but whats the point, lol.

He plays just about anything, none of it is playable. Look him up on youtube, it is painful to watch. I've seen Powerpoint slideshows go way faster.

We can discuss this all day lol, but i just like PCI and hey a graphics card is all but a graphics card, shouldn't matter what someone uses.

It sure as heck doesn't matter to anyone here what you use for your computer, but you are using an outdated computer, that cannot play anything modern or anything resembling playable settings. All people are trying to do is prevent you from throwing your money down the drain.

If you do not wish to heed the advice, it is your choice, but it doesn't make it a sensible one. Stick with the HD2400Pro if you must but don't spend money on another card. The 80$ that 9400GT will cost you brings you more than halfway to a whole new computer.

Example (From the egg):
CPU: AMD Athlon X2 BE-2300 (37.99$)
Motherboard: Biostar A780G M2+ SE (59.99$)
Memory: 1Gb of DDR2 800Mhz by Crucial (9.99$)
PSU: Sunbeam PSU-PKS-480-US 480W (16.99$)
Total: 124.96$. The 10$ MiR on the mobo will bring it to 114.96$.

The HD3200 IGP on that motherboard will perform as well as your current card, if not better and you will be able to upgrade to a normal PCI-E video card down the road, and finally game like a normal human being. Not to mention - overall the system will be a dozen times more powerful than your ancient, outdated, P3.

Please, please, please, listen to us.

so you are going to stick to PCI cause you like it? now this may come off as blunt, rude, even a little mean. your an idiot that is stupid and unless you honestly don't know how to line up a PCI-e card into a PCI-e slot your really really stupid to buy a PCI card in a system with PCI-e, but then again looking at your specs your starring at a 15" TUBE whats the max res 1024*768 @60hz? hell the onboard on my atom can play most old games on low with that res.

why you would buy an intel based gateway is beyond me there AMD builds all use an ECS 780G board and most of them are phenom based which in most games is plenty of go power. The intel ones are on a shitty G-series intel board with onboard which means you can use your wonderfully crappy PCI cards to ruin.

the perfect mobo for you!

look its started no PCI slots woot!

pci is still used in alot of boards, well not for graphics but you know, i mean you could use it for graphics but if you got an agp(lol) or pci-e slot(bigger lol) why would you use pci, thats like walking on purpose in a sprint race.

intels GMA crap is indeed shit though, i gots GMA3100 on my htpc and it was so bad that crap wouldn't run s4 league on low without bsod, my 9600pro played it on medium at the same settings with no prob.
