Hi,

I have got an Xpertvision 512 and it was giving me the black screen and bsods with ati2vdag problems while using the web, although running 3dmark seemed fine. Updated to your mod4 bios and reinstalled windows to eliminate any driver issues. I have a copy of my original bios if you want, its timings as reported by rabit are:

tCL = 13
tRCDR = 11
tRCDW = 9
tRP = 12
tRRD = 7
tR2W = 15
tRR = 21
tRFC = 25

It has the samsung b11 rams on it so I guess i have the 1.1ns memory.

Yes,one step at a time. The Palit \ Xpertvision cards are far from a normal X1950 Pro. If it passes 90mins of no artifacts with ati tool I'll increase it more.

From rabit my timings are.
TCL=9
TRCDR=12
TRCDW=8
TRP=10
TRRD=8
TR2W=10
TRR=44
TRFC=2C
I wish I could get 750:( would much rather get it on the core then mem though:)

I have an HIS X1950Pro 256mb non ice-q. I anxiously await a newer bios from you Ketxxx that I can use. Currently I can get the memory up to about 745mhz without any artifacting. Anything higher and it locks up the pc. I use the Ati Tools .27 beta with driver level overclock checked to set the settings.

The memory on this card is Samsung 1.4ns.

Anything I can do to help you out in making a 256mb version of the bios?

Ok, after 90mins theres been no artifacts or unusual behavior, so I'm going to push on.

Tommy: theres nothing I can think of right now, but if you can get hold of some X1950 GT BIOS files that would be great :cool:

Don't feel bad, I got the same thing lol Put the Floppy in, and blind-flashed my default lol

Either 1.2 or 1.1, should take a CAS of 8, yea?
I'm currently running:
tCL = 11
tRCDR = 10
tRCDW = 6
tRP = 9
tRRD = 9
tR2W = 13
tRR = 3B
tRFC = 20

My stock timings show:
tCL = 9
tRCDR = 12
tRCDW = 8
tRP = 10
tRRD = 8
tR2W = 10
tRR = 44
tRFC = 2C

Think I should change tCL, tRRD and tR2W to the lower stock timings? Reflashing of course, not soft-timed.

Its all getting abit confusing for me now, im just gonna stick with my oc, its a fairly good oc imo ;)

Can people post their tr2w timings? I'm curious about them, especially as they have a large impact on stability.

10 ;)

this is a ROM from a diamond sapphire 512.
the clock speeds are average, but the timings are really tight.
these are stock speeds....i think im going to have to slow them down because i cant run a FAH.GPU core for more then 30seconds with out a lockup...

{note}
the file is a .exe
i made it that way so i could upload it.
just change the extension back to .ROM

Unsmart, change your TR2W to 13 or 15.

For stability I recommend trying 16. Without a "normal" X1950 Pro I cant fully verify timings, but 16 should give some added stability to anyone having problems.

Saber; voltages depend on if your card has the extra lm63 and voltage table in your bios mainly. many people have one or the other, but not both.

Hi guys ,first post here, but ive been reading here a while now and im very interested in this thread.... Firts of all i have this card http://www.msi.com.tw/program/products/vga/vga/pro_vga_detail.php?UID=773 and like everyone else i was having problems getting anywhere.. i tried the most recent drivers from ati to aid me with some sort of O/C but wasnt getting anywhere, so i tried previous versions of them , but still the same... Anyway i decided to try the drivers from msi and i noticed they had extra features built in CCC for example D.O.T, so i thought ill give it a try about an hour a go stuck in commando mode and whallah!!! ive got clocks of 621/759, i havnt benched it in anyway yet but ive been playing toca 3 on everything on full and it seems perfect. Im going to run 3dmark at stock and at O/C speed to see what the differences are... ALCOPONE Alreet fella , i just live up the road from ya....

Um.... what? lol DOT? Department of Transportation? Decreace Orignal Timings? *shrug*
Interesting something new came up. More info though!

Saberliner, I was talking to Unsmart to change his timings because he's having overclock problems. Nothing you did was "unsmart" :p...... Yet! :slap: heh

If you're changing it with RaBIT while IN windows, yea. that ant tCL does for me too. Change it, flash it, reboot and then see for sure.

Ket, as promissed here is my bios..... i'm doing a bit of research my self, mu memory is hynix, 1.2, 1.4 or 1.6, i don't know wich one cuz the last 2 digits were remarked... but i think my memory is being undervolted, since the spec says 2.0V and probably i'm getting 1.8.... when o get my multimeter up and running i will check that :)

Also trying to change and correct timmings.

Thats the thing i noticed when reading all of these posts, no one if any was using msi cards... That why i thought ill add this... What a difference its made, i couldnt even increase the mhz in either cpu or mem, without the screen flashing.. But this seems to be the biz... im gunna bench them in 06 in a bit , If your interested ?.. here is a link to the D.O.T info...http://www.msi.com.tw/html/service/techexpress/vga/dot/page1.htm

Mitchy, I have the same card but it's branded jetway. I'm also at the same GPU clocks[621] as you and a lot of others. What I found helps is adding a heatsink to the nexsem IC on the back of the card, it gets pretty dam hot. My OC is still 621 but is far more stable and I can run 06 at 627 about 80% of the time and have even completed it at 634 a few times.
Any chance you can post your bios:) My ram can't hit your levels and I would like to try your bios out to see if it helps.
I'll try changing my TR2W, if I don't go fishing:) I've got a case of spring fever so haven't messed with my PC to much.
