Getting a copy of windows.

I've recently had two computers have corrupt windows installs. Is there any way to download or buy a disc to install the OS? They're both OEM. One of them I switched the motherboard with so I can't use that disc.

I intend to replace the hard drive in one of them. I want to copy his current install over if possible, but the disc would be nice to have.

Please note I already have the keys and I'm not pirating windows!

unfortunately its been discussed on the forum before, and the higher ups decided it was too close to piracy to share links to ISO's and such, since microsoft doesnt allow anyone to directly download them as they will.

I thought microsoft provided downloads to all copies of windows for trial? If you have a key you can just activate them... or did they stop doing that?

i dont think that was ever provided, but you do get a 30 day trial installing vista/7 without a key (this assumes you had access to a disk, or ISO's via technet)

Is buying a disc off of someone alright? I want to have a physical copy.

I know I've done that before, not counting the beta/rc. Might have been a student thing.

Just put an ad up on Craigslist. There are a lot of people that have old discs, especially if you're talking Windows XP. I don't think there would be anything wrong with buying a copy as long as it's legit.
