Gigabyte H55M - S2 MB won't detect PCIE GPU

I recently got hold of a little used Gigabyte MB and i had an unused Intel I3 540 laying around and a bunch of cards, cases, rams and 2 gpus so i went and made a new PC with folowing spec:
Intel I3 540 CPU
Gigabyte H55M - S2 Motherboard
ATX 350W PSU
Smart case
6GB of Apacer DDR3 RAM

Now since this MB supports onboard GPU, and the I3 has one, i got it tested and it works.
And in BIOS i set for a PEG (PCI Express Graphics) display and Onboard GPU if no PEG is detected.
Weird is that i have my old 6770 and an even older 5670 to work but both can't be detected by the board, so i can't install drivers. Both GPUs are fine and working, as i tested them on my rig (since my rig was geting a GPU upgrade).

Anyone with experience or solution, pls help.

Set it to PEG only, maybe that solves the problem. Else, try a bios update.

Did both things still not working.
I might have to format the PC to see if that works, cause intel drivers dont have support for Windows 10.
Cannot disable onboard GPU completly.

And you have tried 2 different GPU's? does the board have another PCI-E slot you can use? Reinstalling Windows won't do anything as you cant even see the BIOS which is before you even start to load Windows.

Tried 2 different gpus, no luck.
Don't have 2 PCI-E ports to use.

slots dead. you can try blowing it out for dust and debris, otherwise the slots likely toast.

Use the IGP and see if there's an update for your boards BIOS though sounds like what mussells said, the slot seems to not be working as it hasn't picked up either GPU even when set to PCI-E in the BIOS

BIOS update is definitely a good idea. Boards from that era could have odd incompatibilities, i recall hearing of that before.
