Hi all,

As the title says, GPU-Z 2.52 is not reading anything from "Board Power Draw" down to "Power Consumption %" with my Asus Strix 4090.

Tried bios flash to 0050 - no change

Card came with bios 0088.

Any ideas guys?

Update:

Tried the latest Nvidia drivers... no change.

I take it the chip on the GPU that GPU-Z reads is not giving up it's data on this one :D

Same issue for me, freaked me out a little because I had some black screens and fans revving up to full power. Thought the component might've been malfunctioning, after some updates and configuration the GPU seems to be working fine so I don't think there's any issues there. However, for HWMonitor is also reporting 0.0W from "Frame Buffer I/O" and "Frame Buffer Power". I understand these categories are related to MVDDC and MVDDQ so i wonder whats keeping these two software programs from getting this info.

I've run the latest install on my brother's laptop that has an rtx3060 and its displaying the voltages correctly. The one difference I know of is that his motherboard BIOS hasn't been updated since 2021 whereas I have updated mine to the latest one as part of my troubleshooting process. Windows version are the same:
Version 10.0.19045 Build 19045

My latest MSI BIOS:
BIOS Version/Date American Megatrends International, LLC. 1.C0, 3/13/2023

Can the motherboard even be interfering with this?

Bought a Gigabyte 4080 today and noticed the exact same thing. It’s not just GPU-Z doing this though. All voltage monitoring software is reporting 0w. Are you running a windows insider build?

EDIT - I’ve tried everything I can think of and it’s still not reading voltage. Maybe we both have bad cards?

Guys, please just test 3-4 times with 3DMark benchmark (has several different tests in it), Unigine Valley, Unigine Superposition and compare your own test/benchmark results with same GPU & comparable CPUs:
* https://benchmarks.ul.com/3dmark
* https://benchmark.unigine.com/valley
* https://benchmark.unigine.com/superposition

If it seems to mostly match, you are fine.
If your results are significantly lower than others with same GPU + similar CPU, then something might be wrong.
The card seems to perform just fine. My scores in 3DMark and Superposition are what they should be, but not having power information could become a problem later on. I will most likely return this card tomorrow and try to get a replacement. If the replacement does the same thing there must be a conflict between my card and motherboard.

Just in case anyone else has this problem in the future...your card is faulty. I got a replacement today and the issue is no longer there.

Great! Thanks for letting us know a solution was found.

Please could you list the problem card brand & exact model?
Then other folks will have in mind to avoid that model, or at least be careful purchasing it. :)

Sure. Card is the Gigabyte RTX 4080 OC. Exact model name is GV-N4080GAMING OC-16GD.
