My T-Mobile Dash plays NES games smooth with a 200MHz CPU. The iPhone has like a 624MHz CPU correct?

yup.

Idk the specs, but the iPhone is powerful. But since the operating systems are different the emulator is not the same. Also the architecture is probably different which would also mean a differently designed emulator. There's more to emulation than just cpu power. ;)

yup.

my 2.59ghz PC could have issues playing NES games if the emulator was CRAP wait till some ppl actually start working on the emulator and watch them add a PSP emu to it play that on your 200mhz DASH

not an IPHONE owner but stop dissing it b/c its made by APPLE sure its expensive but so was the 1st PC wait for IPHONE 2.0 and such and the price will drop
