HD 5830 listed! 1280sp :D

Features 1280 Stream Processors, 60 Texture Units, a 750 MHz core clock, a 256-bit memory interface, 1GB of GDDR5 memory @ 4000 MHz, and dual DVI, HDMI, plus DisplayPort outputs.

The Radeon HD 5830 obviously has DirectX 11 support, is CrossFireX ready, and comes equipped with a dual-slot cooler. The card bears a pre-order price tag of £190 / 216 Euro / $297 and it should become available this month.

At $3 less than a 5850 I thought these would be priced a bit lower, around the $220-260 marker. Is the 5850 on it's way out, look's to me as both have similar spec's.

and the 5770s are down to $140 now, and the 5850s are going back up in price. It will be interesting to see this when it shows up.

Where do you see a normal priced 5770 for $140? The only one I have seen at that price is the Powercolor 512mb when it is on sale.

Hmmm. The upgrade path has now been slightly skewed for me.

Ive been waiting patiently for a 5830 to show up, but it looks like it could be passed up for a cheaper 5770 if the price is a good deal lower than the 5850, which it SHOULD be.

Wow i was hoping for this card to come in 100 bucks lower around the 200-220 mark and run two of them. For that price who wouldn't buy a 5850.

Resons for ATI 5830 postponing explained

The ATI 5830 was postponed due to so called PCB issues http://www.digitimes.com/news/a20100127PD219.html and it is the same PCB as 5850 because it is a re-binned 5850 http://news.softpedia.com/news/Radeon-HD-5830-Specifications-and-Priced-Revealed-134580.shtml ( reduced shaders from 1440 to 1280, reduced ROP 72 to 60 and increased GPU clock from 725 Mhz to 750 Mhz) = funny reasoning.

The ATI decided to increase the specs of 5830 that was slated for launch on 25th of January due to the fact that they realized specs of Nvidia Fermi 360 aka renamed to 460 slated to go vs 5830 so they postponed it and increased the specs of 5830.
